Austin Downey is in his first year as head coach for The Villages High School girls soccer team and his sixth year overall at VHS.

A native of Summerfield, Florida, Downey attended Florida State University and currently serves as a physical education and CIVICS teacher for The Villages Charter School.

Downey, who helped coach VHS to a pair of district titles in 2022 and 2023, is married to his wife, Tyler.
