Leesburg, Fla. — The Villages High School bowling teams finished off their respective regular seasons with a pair of victories Wednesday in Leesburg.
Both the Buffalo boys and girls squads enjoyed wins over visiting Tavares inside AMF Leesburg Lanes, with the girls picking up a 3-0 sweep and the boys earning a 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs.
VHS GIRLS
The Buffalo girls capped off a perfect regular season with the sweep, finishing their 2024 slate with a 14-0 overall record. VHS earned the win via scores of 794-556, 831-606, 202-110, respectively, with Lexie Perry recording a pair of high-score games of 226 and 203. Harlie Piecewicz also tallied individual games of 191 and 182 in the victory. The VHS girls are 27-1 in head-to-head match play over the past two years, having won 45 of 46 individual games played this season.
VHS BOYS
The VHS boys ended their respective regular season on a high note, rallying after dropping the opener to win the match with game scores of 803-866, 954-763, 159-128 and 168-167, respectively. Jackson Strausberger rolled an individual-best 222 and Trace Mergaert added a 221, while Kash Carroll posted a 199 in the win. The Buffalo, who snapped a three-match losing streak on Wednesday, finished the regular season with a 6-9 overall record.
The Buffalo will now turn their attention toward the district tournament next week.
