Middleton, Fla. — The Villages High School bowling teams picked up a pair of victories in their season-opening matches Wednesday in Leesburg.

The Buffalo boys and girls squads both defeated Umatilla inside AMF Leesburg Lanes, starting off the 2025 campaign with respective 1-0 records.

Braden Lightbourne posted the individual high for the Buffalo boys, rolling a 244 in his first game of the afternoon. The VHS girls were spearheaded by matching pinfalls of 181 for Amelia O'Brien.

The two teams will be back in action at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 27 against Mount Dora at AMF Leesburg Lanes.
