Leesburg, Fla. — The Villages High School bowling teams split with Leesburg on Wednesday afternoon from AMF Leesburg Lanes in Leesburg.
The Buffalo girls squad stayed unbeaten this season with a 3-0 sweep over the Yellow Jackets, despite being without the services of the team's No. 1 bowler, while the VHS boys dropped all three games of their own to slip below .500 overall this season.
Over on the girls side, The Villages rolled to a sweep (737-425, 700-551, 151-122) over Leesburg, even without No. 1
Logan Edelstein in the lineup. The effort was spearheaded by Lexie Perry, who posted team-high scores of 203 and 179, respectively, along with a 176 rolled by
Harlie Piecewicz.
The Buffalo boys weren't quite as lucky, as they were swept (780-1086, 813-983, 182-202) by the Yellow Jackets in a 3-0 defeat.
Kash Carroll posted team-high totals of 184 and 180, while
Jackson Strausberger rolled a 170 in a losing effort.
VHS (girls 8-0, boys 4-5) is scheduled to return to action at 3:30 p.m. Thursday against Eustis at Lakeside Lanes in Tavares.
