Middleton, Fla. — A pair of players from The Villages High School boys soccer team are set to represent VHS on a national stage.

Joel Hernandez will suit up for Brave SC, formerly The Villages SC, in the new-look soccer club's opening match of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday night in Middleton.
Brave SC will host Savannah Clovers FC at 7 p.m. from The Range at H.G. Morse Stadium on the VHS campus. Admission is free.
Florian, a senior striker, tallied 33 goals to finish third across Class 4A statewide this season. Hernandez, a junior defenseman, scored 10 goals for VHS, who captured the district championship en route to a 12-4 overall record this winter.
The U.S. Open Cup appearance is the sixth in club history for Summerfield-based Brave SC, who will do the honors of bringing the first professional sporting event to the new VHS campus in Middleton.
