Middleton, Fla. — A former star on The Villages High School boys soccer team is set to continue his playing career at the collegiate level.
Michael Florian, a Class of 2024 VHS graduate who served as co-captain for the Buffalo this past winter, signed his letter of intent to play at Otero College in Colorado.
The signing was announced Saturday by Brave SC, Florian's summertime soccer home, where he's currently playing in USL League Two.
Florian tallied 74 goals throughout his stellar four-year career in a Buffalo uniform. He scored 33 goals this past winter — including a program-record seven goals against South Sumter back on Nov. 28 — to ultimately finish with the third-most goals in the entire state of Florida.
Located in La Junta, Colorado, Otero College is a public community college, with the Rattlers competing in a dozen sports.
