Middleton, Fla. — The Villages High School girls tennis team continued its historic season with another benchmark victory Tuesday in Middleton.
The Buffalo cruised to a 7-0 win over visiting Umatilla on Senior Day at VHS, where the sweep tied the program's all-time mark for the most wins in a single season (12). VHS, which currently boasts a 12-2 overall record with three regular-season matches remaining, equaled the dozen wins tallied last spring.
After a pre-match ceremony honoring their seniors, the Buffalo enjoyed their sixth sweep — winning all five singles matches and both doubles pairings — of the season.
VHS returns to action at 4 p.m. Thursday at Tavares.
