Middleton, Fla. — The Villages High School boys golf team made history once again Tuesday afternoon in Middleton.
The Buffalo broke the program's all-time scoring record — again — for the second time this fall, putting forth a spectacular performance in a 146-154 victory over South Lake (Groveland) at Shallow Creek Championship Golf Course.
Braxton Williams led the way for VHS (3-0 overall) with a nine-hole score of 35, while Rhett Kirkland (36),
Grady Logan (37) and
Landon Howell (38) rounded out the foursome in scoring.
The team previously smashed the program record for lowest nine-hole score back on Aug. 20, when the Buffalo defeated Forest (Ocala), 147-155, at Shallow Creek.
VHS is set to return to action at 4 p.m. Thursday when it hits the road to Marion County to take on Forest at Ocala Golf Club.
