Middleton, Fla. — The Villages High School boys golf team had its season opener washed out Tuesday in Middleton.
The Buffalo weren't able to complete their season-opening match against Mount Dora Christian Academy and Eustis at Shallow Creek Golf Club, as a round of seasonal afternoon thunderstorms made their way through the area midway through the round.
VHS was 2-under through two holes completed as a team, well ahead of MDCA at +7 through a single hole and Eustis at +11 through a pair of holes played.
The Buffalo were led by sophomore Aiden Skrocki, who was 2-under through four holes of action. A quartet of VHS players were even on the scorecard, as Braxton Williams (5), Rhett Kirkland (3), Tyler Budill (2) and Jackson Platt-Scarbrough (2) each started even before inclement weather approached.
The Villages will return to action at 4 p.m. Thursday when the Buffalo take on Foundation Academy at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge.
