The Villages, Fla. — The Villages High School boys and girls golf teams swept their respective fields at the 2025 Buffalo Invitational on Saturday in The Villages.

The Buffalo finished ahead of the pack at Glenview Champions Country Club, with the boys winning the 18-hole event by 33 strokes and the girls taking first by 29 strokes.

The VHS boys posted a foursome total of 289 to pace a nine-team field, with Eustis (322) and both Foundation Academy (327) and Mount Dora Christian (327) rounding out the top three. The Buffalo were led by Braxton Williams, who shot a 5-under-67 to earn top individual honors on the day, while Landon Howell (70), Rhett Kirkland (72) and Aiden Skrocki (80) all contributed to the win.

VHS also took the first two positions in the girls team standings, as the top Buffalo foursome finished with a 352 over 18 holes of play to finish ahead of a second Buffalo squad (383) and Lecanto (387) in a seven-team field. The top-finishing Buffalo team was led by Kenzi Kacanich (85), Eden Wilkins (86), Katie Allen (89) and Deya Shaktawat (92), while the second VHS foursome was spearheaded by Sarah Lazdowski (87).

It is the first time in Buffalo Invitational history that both the VHS boys and girls teams have finished first in their respective team standings.

The two teams will next return to action with a pair of home matches later this week, as the boys host South Sumter on Sept. 16 and the girls welcome Buchholz on Sept. 18 at Shallow Creek Golf Club in Middleton.
