Middleton, Fla. — For the fourth time in a little more than a calendar year, The Villages High School boys golf team put together a record-setting performance Tuesday at Shallow Creek Golf Club in Middleton.
The Buffalo rewrote the program record for the lowest nine-hole score in a 135-178 victory over South Sumter, as the VHS foursome broke its previous mark of 137 strokes set back on Sept. 2.
Senior
Braxton Williams and junior
Landon Howell led the way, as the duo each signed for a 2-under-33 on their respective scorecards. Sophomore
Aiden Skrocki also shot a 1-under-34 and freshman
Rhett Kirkland added an even-par-35 to round out the scoring for the Buffalo, who have smashed the mark for the lowest score a total of four times since the 2024 season opener last August.
The Buffalo will now turn their attention to the Wesley Chapel Invitational, which takes place at 9 a.m. Sept. 22 on the grounds of Hunter's Green Golf Club in Tampa.
