Middleton, Fla. — The Villages High School is set to host a tri-county band competition today in Middleton.

The Buffalo will serve as hosts of the Florida Bandmasters Association's District 19 Marching Music Performance Assessment on Nov. 1 at H.G. Morse Stadium, featuring 20 marching bands from Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. 

This is the second consecutive year VHS was tabbed as the event host. 

"We're excited to host the high school marching bands from Lake, Sumter and Marion Counties at our District MPA for the second year," said VHS band director Colt Campbell. "Building on last year's successful event, band directors quickly shared how special it was for their students to perform at The Range at H.G. Morse Stadium. We look forward to hosting almost 1,600 students from 20 area high schools."

The performances begin at 1 p.m. and run in 20-minute increments. A 90-minute break will be observed from 4-5:30 p.m.
