Middleton, Fla. — The Villages High School football team earned numerous accolades from the Florida Athletic Coaches Association it was announced Wednesday.
VHS senior athlete Kevonte Corbin was selected as the FACA District 8 Player of the Year for Class 2A, while Richard Pettus was voted as the District 8 Coach of the Year in Class 2A by his peers.
Corbin, joined by lineman Brett Widmann, also received All-District Team honors for outstanding play this season. That senior duo, along with Cole Logan (linebacker) and Robert Sullivan (long snapper), were also added to a list of potential selections for the 70th annual FACA All-Star Football Classic held this December at H.G. Morse Stadium in Middleton.
An additional total of 15 Buffalo players received FACA District 8 Honorable Mention recognition: Keenan Boozer, Jay Bridges, Ja'Marian Clark, Yogi Harris, Omari Hill, Devonte Huff, Ashton Hunt, Brady Hunt, Antwon Johnson, Jadence Kennedy, Cole Logan, El Rivers, Cayden Russ, Robert Sullivan and Jeremiah Wimes.
