Middleton, Fla. — Ethan Bevis, a senior on The Villages High School boys basketball team, recently announced his verbal commitment to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Bevis made the announcement via Instagram on Thursday night, declaring his intentions to continue his playing career and serve his country in the U.S. Air Force.
"My next chapter," Bevis wrote on the social media platform. "100% committed to the U.S. Air Force Academy!!! Go Falcons."
Bevis saw his recruiting stock rise this offseason, playing at an elite level for VHS during multiple Live Period events before college coaches and talent evaluators. The 6-foot-6 wing also dazzled on the travel basketball scene for the Powerhouse Bulls on the Under Armour circuit.
The senior is once again expected to be a key contributor for the Buffalo this upcoming winter, coming off a junior season in which he averaged 5.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Bevis also shot 38% from beyond the arc in 2024-25.
Bevis is the ninth player in VHS Basketball history to commit to a Division I program.
