Weeki Wachee, Fla. — The Villages High School cross country teams competed at the Weeki Wachee Invitational on Saturday in Brooksville.
The Buffalo boys finished in third place (out of 16) and the VHS girls took sixth (out of 12) at the event, which took place at Sand Hill Boy Scout Reservation.
David Probola led the way for the boys squad, coming off his first career victory one week ago, as the senior finished third individually with a time of 17:03.8.
Nate Burton was 14th overall at 18:09.8, while
Roberto Carmona-Rivero was 16th (18:37.2) and
Deegan Rude took 37th overall (19:39.1).
Annison Chandler was once again the top individual finisher for the girls, as the junior finished 18th with a time of 23:07.4.
Catherine Easley crossed the line in a time of 23:57 for 32nd overall and
Aubrey Bollenback was 38th individually with a time of 24:32.1.
The squads will enjoy a week off before returning to action Oct. 11 in the Wild Bulldog Invitational at Withlacoochee River Park in Dade City.
