Middleton, Fla. — The Villages High School volleyball team snapped a five-match winless streak with a dominant victory Monday night in Middleton.
The Buffalo rebounded for their first win since Sept. 13, as they swept Lecanto inside the VHS Gymnasium.
The Villages won via 25-14, 25-10 and 25-18 decisions, respectively, improving to 10-11 overall this season.
"I was really excited just about how all the girls played and everyone contributed," said VHS head coach Michele Moreman. "It feels like we brought back that spark and that pep to our step tonight."
Viviana Toucet Martinez led the way with 13 kills for VHS, while Alexia Laws tallied 10 and Trinity Mitchell finished with eight.
The Buffalo will now look ahead to a second-chance matchup with Foundation Academy next Monday night at 7 p.m. in Middleton. VHS dropped a 2-0 decision to the Lions during the preseason.
"We're going to be preparing for it all week and it's going to be a huge game, so we're really excited for it," Moreman said. "We're up for the challenge and I'm looking forward to seeing how it's going to go this time."
