Lecanto, Fla. – The Villages High School football team used a strong run game and a dominant defensive effort to remain unbeaten Friday in Lecanto.

The Buffalo cruised to a 41-0 road win over the Panthers, as Tranard Roberts tallied three rushing touchdowns and Antwon Johnson added 139 yards and a score on the ground.

VHS (4-0) stifled Lecanto (1-4) defensively, recording five sacks and generating three takeaways en route to a shutout. It's the first shutout of the season for the Buffalo defense after tallying six last fall.

Omari Hill added two receiving touchdowns and Ja'Marian Clark had 72 yards receiving, while Richard Jackson led the way on defense with eight tackles – including four for a loss.

The Villages will conclude a three-game road swing this upcoming Friday night (Sept. 25), when the Buffalo hit the road to take on Tavares at 7 p.m.
