Middleton, Fla. — Michael Florian put on a performance for the ages Tuesday night in Middleton.
The senior striker on The Villages High School boys soccer team scored seven goals against visiting South Sumter (Bushnell), lifting the Buffalo to a 9-1 victory via mercy rule at The Range at H.G. Morse Stadium.
The seven tallies by Florian, who scored 19 goals last season to finish 10th across the state in Class 4A, is noted to be a single-game school record.
VHS ended the contest with a goal in the 69th minute — achieving victory via mercy rule with an eight-goal differential in the second half — to improve to 3-0 overall this season.
The Buffalo will return to action at 7:00 p.m. Thursday night when they host South Lake (Groveland) at VHS.
