Windermere, Fla. — The Villages High School girls weightlifting team picked up yet another victory on Tuesday in Windermere.
The Buffalo outlifted Windermere Prep in a traditional lift battle, earning a 55-35 win over the Lakers on the strength of seven first-place finishes.
Kenlie Gantner took first in the 101-pound division and Lexi Galewski finished atop the podium at 129, while Alissa Platt put up a personal record of 305 pounds in the 139 class. Zoey Simmons (154), Emma Johnson (169), Ava Bitting (189) and Ava Licciardello (199) also took home first-place honors, respectively.
With the victory, VHS improved to 5-3-1 overall and 3-2 in the traditional discipline this season.
The Buffalo are scheduled to return to action at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 20, when they hit the road once again to take on Umatilla.
