Inverness, Fla. — The Villages High School girls weightlifting team kept up its winning ways Wednesday in Inverness.
The Buffalo enjoyed a sweep of Citrus to continue their strong start this season, picking up a 43-37 victory in the Olympic discipline and a 52-37 win in the Traditional sequence over the Hurricanes.
Ally Kline (110), Jackie Tomassian (119), Angelina Linn (129) and Bella Santiago (169) all took first in the Olympic portion of the event, while Kim Gepega (101), Evie Blackburn (110), Tomassian (119), Santiago (169) and Payton West (199) all finished first in the Traditional lift.
VHS will now look ahead to one of its most competitive events of the entire season — the Buffalo Invitational — starting at noon on Nov. 20 inside the Buffalo Sports Complex in Middleton.
