Umatilla, Fla. – The Villages High School girls weightlifting team split a pair of head-to-head matchups Wednesday at Umatilla High School in Lake County.

The Buffalo swept the host Bulldogs in both the Traditional (41-12) and Olympic (36-8) disciplines, but fell to fellow visitor Eustis – 54-51 Traditional, 56-36 Olympic – to finish even on the day.

The VHS trio of Kim Gepega (101 class), Ally Kline (110) and Angelina Linn (129) swept first-place finishes in both formats, while Breanna Wimes (UNL) finished atop the standings in Traditional.

The Buffalo will now look ahead to their next head-to-head matchup, as they hit the road Jan. 14 to take on South Sumter at 4:30 p.m. in Bushnell.
