Bushnell, Fla. — The Villages High School girls weightlifting team enjoyed a sweep over county rival South Sumter on Wednesday in Bushnell.

The Buffalo picked up a pair of victories on the road over the Raiders, enjoying a 50-40 win in the Traditional lift and a 53-37 victory in the Olympic discipline to earn the sweep.

The foursome of Madison Hume (101 pounds), Lexi Galewski (129), Alissa Platt (139) and Breanna Wimes (UNL) all picked up first-place individual finishes in both lifts, while Kenlie Ganter finished first at 110 pounds in the Olympic portion of the event.

With the sweep, VHS finished the regular season unbeaten in head-to-head lifts against opponents this season.

The Buffalo will now turn their attention to the postseason, as they'll next lift in the Class 1A-District 9 Meet at 3 p.m. Jan. 21 inside the VHS Gymnasium in Middleton.
