Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. – The Villages High School boys and girls golf teams wrapped up play at the 2025 FHSAA State Championships on Wednesday in Lake County.
The Buffalo girls finished in a tie for 13th place overall and the VHS boys finished 14th over two days of play at Mission Inn Resort and Golf Club, closing their respective seasons with solid performances against the state's top competition.
The girls' 13th-place squad was led by seventh-grader
Kenzi Kacanich, who finished 54th individually, while
Katie Allen (64th),
Sarah Lazdowski (69th) and
Deya Shaktawat (72nd) rounded out the VHS foursome.
Over on the boys side, the squad finished just nine strokes off 10th place in a tightly contested race for Class 2A placement.
Rhett Kirkland was the top individual performer finishing in 28th place, with
Landon Howell (42nd),
Braxton Williams (50th) and
Aiden Skrocki (74th) closing out the scorecard.
