Brooksville, Fla. — The Villages High School wrestling team crowned two district champions and qualified nine grapplers through to regionals Wednesday in Brooksville.

Devinn Dunn (126 pounds) and Johnathan Clohecy (175) each picked up individual titles in the Class 1A-District 6 Tournament at Weeki Wachee High School, helping propel the Buffalo to a third-place finish in the team race. Weeki Wachee tallied 231.5 points to take the team title, while Hernando finished runner-up with 222 points and VHS placed third with 182.

The Buffalo also racked up four second-place finishes individually, as Jonathan Overstreet (132), Wyatt Overstreet (138), David Mooney (157) and Ethan Caudill (215) all collected silver medals.

The trio of Aaron Spratt (106), Skyler Eldredge (113) and Charles Idleman (120) all each qualified for the regional tournament next week with top-four finishes individually. 

The Class 1A-Region 2 Tournament takes place Feb. 28 at Palm Bay High School.
