Clohecy Receives State Champion Ring

VHS senior wrestler went a perfect 56-0 during 2024-25 season to win 175-pound title.

Middleton, Fla. – The Villages High School presented Johnathan Clohecy with a commemorative state championship ring during a ceremony Thursday in Middleton.

Clohecy, a recently graduated member of the Class of 2025 at VHS, finished with a perfect 56-0 record this past winter en route to capturing the Class 1A title at 175 pounds.

In what could be considered the most dominant individual season in VHS Athletics history, Clohecy became the school's seventh individual state champ – and the third in Buffalo wrestling program history – back on March 8 at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee.

All 56 of his victories came with bonus points for the Buffalo, as he tallied 38 pins, 11 technical falls, three major decisions and four wins via forfeit during the 2024-25 season. He also became the first-ever undefeated wrestler in school history.

Clohecy is set to continue his wrestling career this fall at Indian Hills Community College in Iowa.
