Orlando, Fla. – The Villages High School girls bowling team enjoyed a Top 5 finish at the state tournament Thursday in Orlando.

The Buffalo took fifth place at the 2026 FHSAA State Championship at Boardwalk Bowl, closing the final day of play with a 1-1 mark in head-to-head team action.

The strong finish came after VHS finished 11th in the preliminary rounds Wednesday, before qualifying for Thursday's final day of play to keep their hopes for the school's first-ever team state title alive.

The fifth-place finish ends a stellar season for the Buffalo girls bowling program, which finished a perfect 16-0 overall during a dominant regular-season campaign. VHS won 48 of 51 games played this fall, before capturing the Class 1A-District 4 championship.
