Brooksville, Fla. – The Villages High School baseball team saw its season come to an end Sunday afternoon in Brooksville.
The Buffalo were defeated 10-1 in Game 3 of the Class 3A-Region 2 semifinal series with Hernando, falling in a winner-take-all contest against the Leopards for the second year in a row.
After dropping Game 1 by a final score of 5-1 on Friday, VHS rallied for a 3-2 victory Saturday in Brooksville. The Buffalo were led by a complete-game effort on the mound from
Pedro Roldan and the first career home run by
Brady Butts, which helped force the decisive Game 3 scheduled to be played later that day.
Inclement weather forced Game 3 to be moved to Sunday afternoon, when Hernando struck for four runs in the first and never looked back en route to a 10-1 win.
The Villages finishes the spring with a 16-12 overall record.
