Middleton, Fla. — The Villages High School boys golf team kept up its winning ways Tuesday in Middleton.
After enjoying a narrow playoff victory at the Buffalo Invitational over the weekend, VHS stayed hot with a 165-167 victory over visiting Lecanto in nine holes of action at Shallow Creek Championship Golf Course.
The Buffalo were paced by
Braxton Williams, who shot a 40, while
Grady Logan (41), Rhett Kirkland (42) and Aiden Skrocki (42) rounded out the VHS scoring in the win. The foursome tallied a total of four birdies on the day, which was highlighted by Lecanto's Gordon Goetz, who fired a 2-under-33 to lead all players.
The victory improved the Buffalo to 4-0 overall in head-to-head competition this season. The win also came after The Villages outlasted Forest in a two-hole playoff this past Saturday at Glenview Champions Country Club, where both Williams and Kirkland lifted VHS to victory late in its nine-team hosted event.
The Buffalo are scheduled to return to action at 4 p.m. Thursday, as they hit the road to take on Eustis at Black Bear Golf Club.
