Middleton, Fla. – The Villages High School boys golf team picked up its second straight victory Tuesday in Middleton.

Landon Howell led the way for the Buffalo, firing an impressive 3-under-32 to power VHS toward a 147-153 victory over Forest (Ocala) at Shallow Creek Golf Club.

Howell tallied three birdies and an eagle on the 557-yard par 5 seventh, sprinkling those figures around a pair of bogeys over nine holes of play.

Jackson Platt-Scarbrough shot a 36 and Owen Grogan added a 39, while AJ Sims shot a 40. The Buffalo improved to 2-1 this season in head-to-head play with the win.

VHS returns to action at 4 p.m. Sept. 8 against Lecanto at Shallow Creek.
