11th Battle at The Villages Tourney Field Announced

VHS Boys Basketball to host six Florida teams and pair of out-of-state squads this December.

Middleton, Fla. — The Villages High School boys basketball team announced the 2024 Battle at The Villages tournament field Monday.

The 11th annual event, hosted by the Buffalo Stampeders, will take place Dec. 26-28 inside the VHS Gymnasium in Middleton. Games are scheduled for 1, 3, 5 and 7 p.m. each day.

A collection of six teams from across the Sunshine State will descend upon The Villages campus, while a pair of out-of-state squads — both hailing from Georgia — will bring a total of eight participants to the three-day event.

Battle at The Villages tournament committee chairman, Marty Dzuro: "I'm excited for the 11th annual Battle at The Villages, featuring six of the best teams from Florida and two Atlanta-area powerhouse programs. Basketball fans can expect to see 12 of the best high school games this year in the VHS Gymnasium. I can't wait to add another exciting chapter to the Battle and seeing these eight teams compete here in Florida's Friendliest Hometown."

VHS boys basketball head coach Colt McDowell: "I'm excited to host another very strong field with some of the best teams from Florida and Georgia in this year's Battle at The Villages. We expect to have great talent on well-coached teams and an environment that is second-to-none, helping not just us, but the other seven teams in the field get prepared for the stretch run of the season and our respective postseasons, too."

Tickets are available now for advance purchase at https://battleatthevillages.com. No VHS Athletics season passes will be accepted throughout the duration of the event.
