Middleton, Fla. — It's time for playoff basketball in Middleton.

The Villages High School will host a pair of postseason games this week, as both the Buffalo boys and VHS girls will play host to Class 3A-Region 2 quarterfinal matchups inside the VHS Gymnasium.

The Buffalo boys hoops team earned the No. 1 seed in its regional tournament with a 22-5 overall record and will host Astronaut (6-21) at 7 p.m. Wednesday night in Middleton. VHS captured its seventh consecutive district championship last Friday night, cruising to an 85-49 victory over South Sumter.

The VHS girls basketball squad earned the No. 3 seed in its regional tournament with a 22-5 overall record and will host Tampa Catholic (17-11) at 7 p.m. Thursday night in Middleton. The Buffalo celebrated their first district title since 2021 with a 75-33 win over Umatilla last Saturday evening.
