Palatka, Fla. — The Villages High School baseball team advanced to the next round of the postseason with a convincing victory Tuesday night in Palatka.
The No. 3 Buffalo swept the best-of-three Class 3A-Region 2 quarterfinal series with a 10-2 win over No. 6 Palatka, moving on to next week's regional semifinals against either North Marion or Hernando. This marks the fourth consecutive year that VHS has advanced to the second round of the playoffs.
Logan Godwin went 3-for-3 with two RBI and both

Hunter Anderson had two hits apiece, as The Villages picked up its second victory in as many nights in Putnam County.
Samuel Craig settled in after a somewhat shaky start on the mound, tossing six innings of two-run ball — with just one earned — and striking out five to earn the win.
In the opposing Class 3A-Region 2 quarterfinal, No. 2 North Marion and No. 7 Hernando are set to play a decisive Game 3 on Thursday night in Hernando. The highest remaining seed will then host Game 1 and Game 2 of the regional semifinals, with the best-of-three series set to begin on Monday, April 28.
