Middleton, Fla. – The Villages High School boys and girls basketball teams were announced as regional hosts by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) on Monday.

The VHS girls earned the No. 6 seed in the Class 3A-Region 2 Tournament, as they'll host No. 3 Windermere Prep in the regional quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Friday night in Middleton.

The Buffalo boys earned the No. 2 seed in their respective Class 3A-Region 2 Tournament, setting up a regional quarterfinal matchup with No. 7 Discovery at 7 p.m. Saturday night in Middleton.

Both teams are coming off district championships in which the VHS boys team won its eighth straight district title and the Buffalo girls captured their second straight district crown.
