Middleton, Fla. – The Villages High School football team moved to 2-0 this season with a gritty victory Friday night in Middleton.
VHS prevailed in a physical battle with visiting South Lake, outlasting the Eagles for a 28-21 win at H.G. Morse Stadium.
Ja'Dence Kennedy threw three touchdowns – including 88-yard and 82-yard scores to
Ja'Marian Clark – and
Antwon Johnson added a score on the ground early to lead VHS to victory.
The Buffalo have now beaten South Lake in three consecutive seasons and lead the all-time series, 3-0.
Up next, VHS hits the road for the first time in the 2026 season, as the Buffalo take on Zephyrhills Christian at 7 p.m. Friday (Sept. 11) in Zephyrhills.
