Middleton, Fla. — The Villages High School boys and girls basketball teams each enjoyed preseason victories Tuesday night in Middleton.

The Buffalo picked up a pair of wins to open the Refs 'R' Us Tipoff Classic, as the boys defeated The First Academy (Orlando), 55-45, and the girls knocked off Trinity Catholic (Ocala), 43-20, inside the VHS Gymnasium.

The two teams will return to action Thursday night for the final evening of the preseason event, with the girls hosting Forest (Ocala) at 6 p.m. and the boys welcoming The Rock (Gainesville) at 7:30 p.m.
