Daytona Beach, Fla. – The Villages High School competitive cheerleading team opened its 2025-26 season with a strong performance Saturday in Daytona Beach.

The Buffalo took first place in the Varsity X-Large Non-Tumbling division of the Battle at the Beach on the campus of Seabreeze High School, opening the new campaign by bringing home a first-place banner.

Up next, VHS will participate in the Eagle Jamboree on Nov. 19 at South Lake High School in Groveland, before returning home to host the program's first-ever competition on Nov. 22. The Buffalo Cheer Showdown begins at 8:55 a.m. Saturday inside the VHS Gymnasium.
