Middleton, Fla. – The Villages High School boys basketball team recorded its sixth straight victory Thursday night in Middleton.
The Buffalo suffocated South Lake (Groveland) defensively by forcing 17 turnovers, helping pave the way to an 81-48 win inside the VHS Gymnasium.
Ethan Bevis tallied 16 points to lead four Buffalo in double figures, while
Aaron Britt, Jr. added 14 points,
Kymani Weathers had 11 and
Jared Thompson finished with 10.
The Villages (7-1 overall) tallied 16 assists to just two turnovers on offense, while also pulling down 11 offensive rebounds in the win. Dwayne Foreman III led South Lake (3-7) in scoring with a game-high 18 points.
The Buffalo will now turn their attention toward the 52nd annual City of Palms Classic, where they'll open with a nationally ranked matchup against St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) at 7 p.m. Dec. 18 in Fort Myers.
