Middleton, Fla. – The Villages High School girls basketball team used a solid 1-2 punch to cruise to victory Monday night in Middleton.
Herva Brutus scored 19 points and
Narjhani Harris added 11, propelling the Buffalo to a 69-33 win over visiting Vanguard (Ocala) inside the VHS Gymnasium.
The senior duo also stuffed the statsheet throughout the night, as Brutus pulled down nine rebounds and added four steals and four assists each. Harris was also credited with seven rebounds and five assists in the win.
The Buffalo forced 32 turnovers defensively and snagged 13 offensive rebounds.
Kennedy Rogers added 10 points and
Domiya Foreman had eight points for VHS, who improved to 6-4 overall this season.
Up next, The Villages will turn right around and host Crystal River at 6 p.m. Tuesday night in Middleton. The game was originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. but a junior-varsity contest between the two teams was canceled.
