Middleton, Fla. — The Villages High School girls basketball team advanced to the Class 3A-District 5 Tournament championship in historic fashion Thursday night in Middleton.
The Buffalo set program records for the most points scored in a single game (102) and the largest margin of victory (95), as VHS rolled to a 102-7 win over Angeline Academy of Innovation and Technology (Land O' Lakes) inside the VHS Gymnasium.
With the win, The Villages (21-5 overall) advances to Saturday's district title game against Umatilla. Tipoff between the Bulldogs and Buffalo is set for 7 p.m.
VHS is seeking its third district championship in program history and the first since 2021.
