Middleton, Fla. – The Villages High School softball team got back in the win column Tuesday night in Middleton.
After a brief two-game skid, the Buffalo earned a 5-4 victory over South Lake to improve to 3-2 overall this season.
VHS shrugged off a streak of 12 hitless innings early in the win by tallying three runs in the first frame, while also taking advantage of six errors committed by the visiting Eagles.
Layla Farrish and
Peyton Foley each scored twice, while
Elaina Gonzalez collected two hits for the Buffalo.
Haylee Nobles picked up the victory in the pitcher's circle, as she allowed just two earned runs and scattered five hits over 6-1/3 innings pitched.
The Villages returns to action Wednesday night, when they hit the road to take on Dunnellon at 7 p.m.
