Bushnell, Fla. – The Villages High School softball team enjoyed a revenge victory over its county rival Tuesday night in Bushnell.
The Buffalo scored early and often en route to a 7-2 win over South Sumter, avenging a 4-2 loss earlier this month in Middleton. VHS scored five runs in the first inning and added two more in the second, jumping out to an early 7-0 lead in the rematch with the Raiders.
The trio of
Layla Farrish,
Peyton Foley and
Elaina Gonzalez each had two hits for VHS, with Gonzalez leading the way with three RBI in the win.
Emily Thompson was also strong in the pitcher's circle, as she struck out six in seven innings of two-run ball.
VHS also took advantage of seven errors committed by the Raiders.
The Buffalo (11-4 overall) return to action on April 2 in Orlando, when they take on The First Academy at 6:30 p.m.
