Middleton, Fla. – The Villages High School swimming and diving teams swept Mount Dora in a head-to-head meet Thursday in Middleton.
Both the Buffalo boys and girls squads secured victories over the visiting Hurricanes at the VHS Aquatics Center, with the boys taking a 118-50 decision and the girls winning 114-62. Each team is now 3-0 this season in head-to-head competition.
Aaron Nacaxe set a new school record in the boys' 100 butterfly, posting a time of 55.05 seconds. History was also made on the diving board, where Adelle Laux set a new six-dive total score of 161.95.
The two teams will return to the pool at 6 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 3) when they host Lecanto in Middleton.
